Change your lifestyle, before your lifestyle changes you

Let’s be Health Conscious!

Being health conscious is something we all should be aware of, each and every day. Making choices in the foods we put in our body makes a difference. Someone once said it this way; If you eat fat, greasy food, you become a fat, greasy dude! If you put doctor stuff in your brain you become a doctor if you put teacher stuff in your brain, you become a teacher, and so on. If you put junk in your mind, that’s what you become. If you continually put junk in your body, well, we are less than healthy, right?

We here a lot about living a healthy lifestyle, but what does that mean? In general, a healthy person doesn’t smoke is at a healthy weight, eats healthy and exercises. Sounds simple, doesn’t it?

The trick to healthy living is making small changes… talking more steps, adding fruit to your cereal, having more steps, adding fruit to your cereal, having an extra glass of water… these are just a few ways you can start living healthy without drastic changes.

If you have a hectic lifestyle, changes are your diet, exercise and sleep schedules suffer the most, affecting every part of your body and inviting obesity, hypertension, diabetes, osteoporosis, cholesterol etc.

Exercise

These days, one of the problems people face, in metros, is lack of activity. We know it’s not good for us. We think exercise has to be vigorous to be worth our time. The truth is, movement is movement and the more you do, the healthier you’ll be. Even moderate activities like chores, gardening and waling can make a difference!
Just change your life style a little movement to your life can;

  • Reduce the risk of heart disease, stroke and diabetes
  • Improve joint stability
  • Increase and improve range of movement
  • Help maintain flexibility as you age
  • Maintain bone mass
  • Prevent osteoporosis and fractures
  • Improve mood and reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression
  • Enhance self esteem
  • Improve memory in elderly people
  • Reduce stress

So, even if you opt for small changes and a more modest weight loss, you can see the benefits are still pretty good. One study has found that just a 10% weight reduction helped obese patients reduce blood pressure, cholesterol and increase longevity

Set a goal to weight loss, a better-toned body or improved time management and fix a time frame (three months is not too distant, not too close). Take steps to support it divide the day in optimum time use capsules and follow it, better fluid intake, exercise, eat a nutritious diet focusing on fresh fruits and vegetables and fibre (whole cereals). Determine your reward and reiterate your commitment every day – through prayer, mediation, or breathing exercises for 15 minutes in the morning.
